Hi everyone, it's already October! This month is so very promising since the cold days are coming and we get to take all the woolens out of the wardrobe. For the knitter and crocheter it is the ultimate bliss!
October is also Breast Cancer awareness month. This is a theme very close to our hearts since Betina and many other close relatives of ours have fought this disease. We feel that information and awareness of the issue are extremely important. That is why we painted our whole website pink and added a link in the start page to the Rosa Bandet/Cancerfonden website.
So what have we been up to since last blog post??
The Colours of Nature Pre-order
We are very happy to say we are collaborating with G-uld, a danish company and the authors of the fabulous book The Colours of Nature to sell their book. This is an amazing book for the beginner or the experienced natural dyer. It is packed full with information about plants to harvest and recipes for you to achieve the most beautiful colors. You can pre-order the book in our shop and it will already be ready to ship on October 15th!
New sock yarn
We are back at dying sock yarn! This last weekend we released our first self-stripping sock yarn and we released a Halloween-themed video on our Instagram account (you can watch our Oscar winning production here). Have you seen it?
The sock yarn is called "Spooktastic" and is already available in our webshop! But what is a self-stripping sock anyway? We used a technique to dye the yarn that automatically creates stripes as you knit without the need of you having to switch colors and weave-in ends, isn't it fabulous? We have just a small amount of the "Spooktastic" skeins so if you like a knitflix project but wanted to add something interesting to your vanilla sock this time around, the "Spooktastic" yarn is your answer.
Next shop update: October 22th
We are preparing another collection of non-superwash yarn to be released in two weeks. By the way, we will soon add a banner on our website with our next shop update so everyone can plan in advance! This is a yarn that is spun in Sweden, in Mariestad, and wool that comes from New Zealand. It is a soft and woolen spun yarn that is perfect for fall and winter garments, shawl and accessories. It is a 2 cable yarn packing 300m in 100g skein. We are very happy with the result since this time we dyed over white and grey bases and we managed to get a rainbow of colors that look amazing. There is a sneak peak in our start page already, have you seen it?
Also in this next shop update we will release out "Fall Sock" collection and I must tell you it embraces all the cozy feeling Socktober can bring. So prepare your sock knitting gear!
You can now pay your order with Swish!
Last, but not least, we added the option to pay with Swish in our website now! In the Payment part you choose Manual Payment and the number to Swish your order amount to shows up at the bottom. Easy-peasy. This is only an update for our Swedish customers.
